Google Trends

The first product launch for the Google Press Day 2006: Google Trends, allowing you to search Google traffic trends (instead calling this application “Beta” for Google Trends, Google shows a special Labs logo). Note there has to be a threshold of minimum searches for a trend graph to show up. The internal name of this product seems to have been iZeitgeis.
This release will be a great view into the long term trends in search engines. Although you cannot see the exact search numbers, simply having trend analysis will prove to be very effective and useful for search engine marketers and content developers alike
Many in the internet marketing sector see Google as the big bad wolf. We have to admit that there is limited interaction with marketers and Google. It is very nice to see an application patterned to internet marketers. Although a small step, it is a very welcomed one.
